This view clearly shows the 2N3904 transistor and its associated parts.  Notice how the transistor and diode are soldered to one corner of the transformer L2.  Note that the 10K resistor that connects to the function generator is just hanging in the breeze here.

Here I'm pointing at the 27-ohm resistor (red-violet-black), which can be hard to spot.   Notice that it's directly in front of the disc capacitor labeled "471J".
